I didn't take note of the exact error codes unfortunately I was too flustered at the time However I have tried connecting other phones and the result is the same nothing Is it possible that a software change could resolve the issue or is it more likely to be a hardware-related electrical fault

Given that multiple devices are failing to connect a software change is unlikely to resolve the problem While it's difficult to say definitively without the error codes it does sound like a hardware malfunction related to the Bluetooth module or communication interface The next step would be to visit a workshop for them to diagnose and repair it Mention the possibility of an incorrect device pairing

I took your suggestion and booked an appointment at a specialist workshop describing the symptoms and possible incorrect device pairing Turns out it was precisely that They cleared the old pairings and changed the software and now everything is working again and the final bill was around 45€ Thanks again for your help

I also own a C Klasse although I haven't experienced problems with fuel system transmission or suspension malfunctions related to phone connectivity However I did have a similar issue with my smartphone pairing Was the mechanic able to specify the exact error codes stored This could help in pinpointing the malfunction Also have you attempted to pair any other devices to the system Could there be a conflict with previously paired phones
