Mercedes C Klasse starting issue

I'm having trouble with my 2011 Mercedes C Klasse with a gasoline engine. It's got 103869 km on the clock. Sometimes it just won't start, like the starter motor is dead. Other times the engine cuts out while I'm driving, and sometimes idles super rough. I was thinking it could be the ignition switch. Has anyone else had issues with the key turn or car electronics on these?

Had similar symptoms on my C Klasse. I'd suspect your ignition switch. Check the fuse for the starter motor relay before anything else.

Where exactly is that fuse located? Is it easy to get to and replace, or do I need special tools?

Fuse box, check your car's manual for the exact location it varies. Should be simple to swap but if it blows again immediately, time to see a workshop.

Thanks for the help! Turned out it was just a defective fuse like you said. Cost me 52€ to replace. Appreciate the quick diagnosis!
