Mercedes Citan electrical issues

My 2014 Mercedes Citan with a gasoline engine is acting up Random error messages appear while driving, the malfunction indicator lamp is on, and sometimes the audio/navigation system fails I've even had temporary shutdowns of control units The error memory is full of cryptic messages It might be a bad cable connection to the BUS system Has anyone seen anything like this The repair might cost 155€

That sounds frustrating Has the check engine light come on at all, along with the warning signal It could be a system failure

Yes, the check engine light comes on sporadically, with other warning lights Is there any way to check the cable connections myself before I take it to a workshop I'm not sure where the BUS system is located in the Citan

Without proper tools and knowledge, fiddling with the BUS system could make things worse Since multiple systems are failing, and you're getting a warning light, it sounds like a deeper electrical issue I'd advise getting it professionally diagnosed to be sure

I appreciate the advice I took it to the shop It was exactly what I suspected – a defective cable connection to the control unit and the BUS system They charged me the quoted 155€ to fix it Everything seems to be working fine now Hopefully, this is the end of my system failure nightmare
