Mercedes Citan electrical issues
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Mercedes Citan was experiencing random error messages, a malfunction indicator lamp, and occasional shutdowns of control units, with the error memory full of cryptic messages. The suspected cause was a bad cable connection to the BUS system. After professional diagnosis, it was confirmed to be a defective cable connection, which was repaired for 155€, resolving the issues.

Yes, the check engine light comes on sporadically, with other warning lights Is there any way to check the cable connections myself before I take it to a workshop I'm not sure where the BUS system is located in the Citan

Without proper tools and knowledge, fiddling with the BUS system could make things worse Since multiple systems are failing, and you're getting a warning light, it sounds like a deeper electrical issue I'd advise getting it professionally diagnosed to be sure

I appreciate the advice I took it to the shop It was exactly what I suspected – a defective cable connection to the control unit and the BUS system They charged me the quoted 155€ to fix it Everything seems to be working fine now Hopefully, this is the end of my system failure nightmare

That sounds frustrating Has the check engine light come on at all, along with the warning signal It could be a system failure
