Mercedes Citan radio reception problems

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the antenna base for corrosion, but I did give the antenna itself a wiggle, and it seemed secure enough. Where exactly is the antenna cable connected to the radio unit? Is it easily accessible, or do I need to remove the entire dashboard to get to it? I'm trying to avoid taking it to a workshop if it's a simple fix.

You'll likely need to partially remove the radio to access the antenna cable connection. Given you're getting an error code pointing to the antenna, and you're experiencing such poor signal strength and static noise, it's highly probable the antenna itself is faulty. To be honest, I'd recommend taking it to a qualified technician. They can properly diagnose the issue and replace the antenna if needed. In my case that was exactly what it was.

Thank you for your advice and sharing your experience! I took your suggestion and brought the Citan to a local workshop. Turns out it was indeed a defective antenna, just as we suspected. The total repair cost, including the antenna replacement and labor, came to about 255€. The radio reception is now perfect again, no more static noise or error messages! I really appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds familiar. I had similar radio issues with my Citan. The signal strength was terrible, and the car radio was practically unusable. Have you checked the antenna base for any signs of corrosion or damage? That's often the culprit. Also, is the antenna cable properly connected to the radio unit?
