Mercedes CLA audio system failure

I'll schedule an appointment with a mechanic who specializes in Mercedes. Turns out it was a faulty amplifier on the MOST bus, right where the mechanic looked first. They replaced it, and everything is working perfectly now. The cost was almost exactly what I expected, right around 1000€. Thanks again for your help!
