Mercedes CLA Diesel Electric Steering Column Issue

My 2017 Mercedes CLA diesel has an electric steering column adjustment failure. The error memory shows a fault, and I can't adjust the steering column electrically. It's likely a dodgy cable or plug connection. Has anyone else had this issue?

I haven't experienced that exact problem, but I have seen similar issues with electrical connectors in other cars. Have you checked the fuse for the electric steering column adjustment? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause this type of problem.

Good shout on the fuse, hadn't thought of that. Where exactly is the fuse located for the electronic steering column adjustment on the CLA? Is it in the main fuse box in the engine compartment, or is there another one I'm missing?

I'm not certain about the exact location on the CLA, but it's likely in one of the main fuse boxes. The owner's manual should have a diagram. If the fuse is fine, and given the error code points to a connection issue, it sounds like you're on the right track. Probably best to get it checked at a workshop if you are not comfortable doing this yourself.

The connector issue was spot on. I took it to a local garage, and they found a loose connection in the steering column wiring harness. They cleaned it up, reconnected everything, and now it's working perfectly. Bill came to 95€, exactly as expected. Appreciate the help!
