I haven't checked the vacuum lines, but I visually inspected the turbocharger for damage or leaks Where are the vacuum lines located, and how can I test them without special tools

On my Volvo, the vacuum lines ran near the turbocharger and connected to the wastegate actuator Visually check for cracks or disconnections You can try spraying soapy water on the lines while the engine runs, looking for bubbles that indicate a leak However, your symptoms suggest a potentially significant issue A professional diagnostic assessment may be wise before attempting repairs yourself A defective wastegate can damage the turbocharger beyond the 860€ you are worried about

I appreciate the advice I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a problem with the wastegate valve The total repair cost was 860€, but it's fixed now Thanks again for your help

I understand your concern about your Mercedes CLA Your symptoms point to a problem in the boost pressure regulation system I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V70; it was a faulty boost pressure sensor that caused power loss and strange noises Have you checked the vacuum lines for the turbocharger and wastegate A leak there could cause your symptoms
