Mercedes CLA Hybrid engine issue resolved

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2020 Mercedes CLA hybrid The check engine light is on, and I've noticed a considerable reduction in engine power The car feels sluggish, and fuel consumption has increased I suspect it may be related to boost pressure Could a defect in a vacuum switching valve be the culprit, or should I be checking the intake manifold, bypass valve, pressure sensor, boost solenoid, or looking for a vacuum leak

That sounds like a headache I had a similar problem with my CLA, though I can't recall the exact build year The symptoms were almost identical – check engine light, poor engine response Have you noticed any hissing sounds, like air escaping It might indicate a vacuum leak somewhere in the system It's like trying to inflate a tire with a hole in the valve, you lose pressure Did you check if the bypass valve is properly sealed

Thank you for your reply I have not specifically checked for hissing sounds, but I will certainly investigate that further When you mention the bypass valve, are you referring to the one connected to the turbocharger And were you able to resolve the problem yourself, or did you require professional assistance

Yes, the bypass valve connected to the turbocharger In my case, I tried a few things, but eventually, I had to take it to a workshop They diagnosed a faulty vacuum switching valve It seems like a common issue Given your symptoms, it's worth having it checked It is better to have it checked by a professional to avoid further damages

I appreciate your insight; it confirms my suspicions I took the car to a trusted workshop The diagnosis was indeed a defective vacuum switching valve The repair cost approximately 140€, and the car is now performing as expected Thank you again for your assistance
