Mileage is high almost 275000 km I haven't checked any relays or connections Where exactly is the fuel pump relay located And how would I check the cable connection just look for anything obviously loose or corroded

Given the high mileage a fuel pump issue is certainly plausible Regarding the fuel pump relay location it's typically found in the main fuse box often located in the engine compartment or under the dashboard Consult your vehicle's owner's manual for the precise location and identification As for the cable connection yes a visual inspection is the first step Look for any signs of corrosion loose wires or damage to the connector itself If you're uncomfortable performing these checks yourself I recommend taking your vehicle to a qualified automotive diagnosis technician They'll be able to perform a comprehensive fuel system test including checking fuel pressure and flow and properly diagnose the root cause of the issue

Thanks for the info Turns out it WAS just a bad connection to the fuel pump like you suspected Mechanic cleaned it up and the car runs great now Cost me 95€ for the auto repair Huge relief

It sounds like you're experiencing a classic case of fuel system issues The symptoms you describe no-start stalling check engine light rough running and increased fuel consumption all point towards inadequate gasoline delivery Have you had the error codes read A defective fuel pump or even a partially clogged fuel filter can indeed cause these problems However before condemning the fuel pump outright I'd suggest checking the basics Inspect the fuel pump relay and its associated wiring A faulty relay can intermittently cut power to the fuel pump Also scrutinize the cable and plug connection to the fuel pump itself a loose or corroded connection can disrupt the electrical signal What is the mileage of your vehicle Have you noticed any unusual noises coming from the fuel tank area
