Mercedes CLA Hybrid Recurring Fault

My 2021 Mercedes CLA hybrid is showing a recurring fault. The car has about 202141 km. A fault code keeps popping up, with error messages on the infotainment and speedometer. Could incorrect vehicle coding be the only cause?

That's interesting. I had something similar happen with my old Volvo, though it wasn't a hybrid. The malfunction indicator lamp came on, and the scanner showed a weird error. Have you used an OBD-II scanner to check the fault codes? What codes are you seeing? Maybe it's just a sensor?

The OBD-II scanner is showing a coding error. The code points to a mismatch between the vehicle parameters and the actual hardware. Could this coding issue really cause errors in different systems?

A coding error messing with multiple systems? Yep. My Volvo did the same thing. Just clearing the codes didn't work; the coding problem was still there. I'd suggest getting a full checkup at a good shop. They'll probably need to re-flash the control units with the right software. That should sync everything up. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice. The shop confirmed it was a coding error. They re-flashed the control units, and the error messages are gone now. It cost 360€.
