Mercedes CLA Intake Air Temperature Sensor Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mercedes CLA experienced a check engine light and diminished power, with diagnostics indicating an issue with the intake air temperature sensor. The problem was suspected to be a faulty sensor, which could cause rough engine performance. After confirming the diagnosis at a workshop, the sensor was replaced, resolving the engine issues.

I don't have the specific temperature readings right now. Where can I access that information? Would an incorrect temperature reading definitively point to a faulty temperature sensor, or could there be other potential causes for these engine issues?

You'd need an OBD2 scanner that can read live data to see the IAT sensor's temperature reading. While a bad reading strongly suggests a faulty sensor, it's not 100%. Wiring issues or even a faulty ECU could, in theory, cause similar symptoms. Given the check engine light and rough running, I'd recommend having a workshop confirm the diagnosis before replacing the sensor.

Following your recommendation, I had the vehicle inspected at a workshop. The diagnostic confirmed a faulty intake air temperature sensor. Replacement and labor came to 155€. The engine issues are now resolved.

Sounds like a faulty IAT sensor. What temperature reading are you getting from the sensor? Is it consistently low, high, or fluctuating wildly? That could narrow it down.
