Mercedes CLA Sun Blind Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes CLA has a defective sun blind that won't retract or extend, with an error stored in the memory. The issue might be due to a malfunctioning motor, but checking the relevant fuses is advised first, as a blown fuse could prevent the motor from receiving power. If the fuse is intact, the motor is likely the problem, and professional diagnosis and repair are recommended.

I have not checked the fuses. Could you elaborate on how to check the appropriate fuse for the sun blind?

Consult your vehicle's owner's manual for the fuse box diagram, which will identify the specific fuse responsible for the car sunshade operation. Visually inspect the fuse; a broken filament indicates it has blown. If the fuse is intact, or if replacing it does not resolve the issue, then a defective motor is almost certainly the issue. In that case, professional diagnosis and repair at a workshop is recommended.

I appreciate the information. Based on your assessment, I will proceed to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop. The estimated repair cost is 330€. Thank you.

A malfunctioning motor is a common cause for a car blind exhibiting those symptoms. Before concluding that, have you checked the relevant fuses? A blown fuse could prevent the motor from receiving power. It is also possible something is obstructing the sun blind, preventing its movement. Is there any visible debris or damage?
