I will check the engine coolant level. Could you provide more specific information regarding the location of the water valve and the nature of the error you encountered?

It's somewhere along the heater core hoses. Honestly, without getting too technical, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. My problem was definitely the water valve. The mechanic replaced mine, and the car heating was back to normal. Sounds like yours is failing too. If it is the valve, budget around 95€.

Understood. I appreciate the information. I have scheduled an appointment with a qualified mechanic. They confirmed the defective water valve and will proceed with the replacement as suggested. Thank you.

Water valve issues are common on these. I had a similar problem with my CLK: reduced car heating, error codes. It turned out to be exactly what you suspect, the water valve. Have you checked the engine coolant level? A low coolant level can mimic a bad car valve.
