Mercedes CLK Diesel Starting Issues

My 2010 Mercedes CLK diesel is acting up It has 143000 km Sometimes it won't start, sometimes it dies right away, and sometimes it runs rough before dying I suspect a bad connection or the ignition key Could a bad fuse cause this

Sounds familiar I had a similar problem with my CLK Check the fuse related to the starter motor It could be the culprit, or maybe the ignition switch itself is faulty Is the key turn smooth, or does it feel rough or sticky

The key turn feels normal Where exactly is the starter motor fuse located Is it under the hood, or inside Also, if the ignition key was the problem, wouldn't it just not start at all

The fuse box is usually under the hood, check your manual for the exact location of the starter motor fuse As for the ignition key, think of it like a lightbulb with a loose filament Sometimes it works, sometimes it flickers A faulty ignition switch can cause intermittent problems like you're describing If the fuse is fine, it might be time to have a mechanic take a look at the car ignition system It's hard to diagnose electrical gremlins without the right tools

Thanks for the advice I checked the fuse box, and a fuse was blown I replaced it, and the car started right up Seems to have fixed the problem, cost me 52€ for the fuse Hopefully, that's all it was Really appreciate the help
