Regarding the dimmer switch, could you elaborate on the specific actions I should undertake to assess its functionality? Furthermore, when manipulating the wires behind the light switch, what am I specifically looking for in terms of a 'provoked issue'?

Sure With the dimmer switch, try rotating it slowly through its entire range of motion See if the dashboard lights flicker or jump in brightness at any particular point That could indicate a bad spot on the switch When wiggling the wires, I was thinking that maybe you'd see the lights flicker, or maybe the error message would pop up on the dashboard right away If either of those things happens, it's a pretty good sign that you've found the source of the problem Otherwise, it sounds like a job for the workshop

I appreciate the detailed explanation Following your recommendation, I investigated the dimmer switch and wiring However, I was unable to confidently identify the source of the fault I proceeded to engage the services of a qualified technician who confirmed the defective cable connection as initially suspected The repair was executed at a cost of 95€, resolving the issue Thank you again for your assistance

That's a frustrating issue I recall having a similar problem with my old Volvo V70 years ago The dashboard lights would flicker randomly, and sometimes the headlights would just decide to come on Have you checked the dimmer switch itself? Sometimes those can get a bit wonky and cause erratic behavior Also, wiggle the wires behind the light switch a little, see if you can provoke the issue If you do, that might confirm the cable connection problem you mentioned
