Mercedes CLK radar sensor error

My 2010 Mercedes CLK with a diesel engine is showing a concerning error. The speedometer displays a radar sensor error, which is also stored in the error memory. This is causing failures in various systems, and the speedometer warning light is on. Mileage is at 45112 km. Any ideas on what could be the issue with these sensors?

I had a similar issue with my CLK. Check if the sensor is dirty. It's a common cause for sensor malfunction and driving assistance failures.

Where exactly is the radar sensor located? And how difficult is it to clean? Is radar calibration necessary afterwards?

It's usually behind the front bumper. Cleaning isn't too hard, but be gentle. If the error persists, it might need professional attention at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out the sensor was indeed dirty. Cleaned it, and the error disappeared. Cost me 45€ for the cleaning supplies. I appreciate the help!
