Mercedes CLK sensor issues cascade

My 2003 Mercedes CLK, gasoline engine, is acting up. It's only done 51880 km. The fog sensor seems to be playing up. I've got an error stored, air con won't kick in, the washer nozzles are frozen solid when it's cold, and the mirror heating is dead. I suspect it's a dodgy cable or plug. Has anyone else seen this sensor malfunction cause such a cascade of issues? Is sensor calibration even possible at this point?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues on my CLK, though I don't recall the year. Washer nozzles, air con, the whole shebang. Did you check the dashboard warning lights? Were there any other electrical gremlins popping up at the same time? It could be something minor, but then again...

Dashboard warning? Apart from the error message related to the fog sensor itself, no other warnings are showing. It just seems odd that one faulty sensor could cause all this grief. So, your CLK had the exact same symptoms, all tied to the windshield fogging sensor?

Pretty much identical from what I remember. Given the symptoms, and that you suspect a cable fault, I'd say you're on the right track. Ultimately, I ended up taking mine to a workshop. Saved me a lot of headache even though it stung the wallet a bit.

Cheers. I'll check the wiring as best I can but sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. 95€ isn't too bad I suppose if that fixes it. I appreciate the confirmation that it could all be related to that sensor. Thanks for the help.
