Mercedes CLK SRS light issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Mercedes CLK owner reported an issue with the SRS light constantly being on, suspecting a defective cable or plug connection related to the airbag or crash sensor. Another person suggested checking the connections under the seats, particularly the yellow airbag connector. The problem was resolved at a workshop, where a defective plug connection was identified and fixed.

Bumps don't seem to trigger it specifically. The light is just always on. Where exactly should I be looking under the seats? Is there a particular airbag sensor or connection point?

Okay, if bumps aren't the trigger, it's probably not a loose connection. Still, check under the seats. There's usually a yellow connector for the airbags. But honestly, with the SRS light constantly on, you're probably looking at a deeper issue. In my case I just got it to a workshop because safety first and all that. Better to be safe than sorry, you know?

I took it to a workshop, and they found a defective plug connection, like I suspected. Airbag system is now fixed for 95€. Appreciate the help!

Hi, I have a problem with my CLK. I have a message that it doesn't work, take it to the workshop. I have changed the control unit but the message persists, it seems that it does not receive a signal because the SRS light does not turn on either. When I turn the key

Check the fuses related to the SRS system first, as a blown fuse could prevent the system from receiving power and displaying the warning light. If the fuses are intact, inspect the wiring and connections to the control unit for any signs of damage or disconnection. If the issue persists, it might be best to have a professional diagnose the problem, as it could be a more complex electrical issue. Let me know how it goes or if you have further questions!

That SRS light is a pain. I had a similar problem on my CLK. Felt like my dashboard was screaming at me. Was it the airbag sensor? Maybe, it could be so many things. But check the connections under the seats first. They're like the Bermuda Triangle for automotive safety – things just disappear there. Is it only triggered by bumps on the road?
