Mercedes CLK Tire Pressure Sensor Problem

Tire pressure problem on my 2010 Mercedes CLK diesel The tire pressure seems low even after inflation and I'm getting an error message in the speedometer display I checked the error memory and there's a stored TPMS issue Could this be related to a faulty sensor

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Mercedes CLK diesel is experiencing a tire pressure issue, with low readings and an error message on the speedometer display. The problem may be linked to a faulty tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor, possibly due to a dead sensor battery. It is suggested to manually check the tire pressure with a handheld gauge to verify the car's readings. If the manual check confirms the issue, replacing the sensor at a workshop is recommended.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

That sounds familiar I had a similar thing happen with my CLK though I can't remember the exact error message Is it possible the sensor battery is just plain dead How often do you even think about those little things Did you try checking all the tire pressures with a pressure gauge to make sure they're actually correct

Thanks for the quick response Is a dead sensor battery a common problem When you say 'checking with a pressure gauge', were you referring to verifying the readings from the car's system, or checking the tire pressure manually

From what I've heard it's pretty common for those sensor batteries to die eventually They only last so long I meant use a physical handheld pressure gauge, not just relying on the car's display If the manual tire check agrees with the car, it's probably the sensor itself I ended up just taking mine to a workshop and they sorted it out Much easier than messing with it myself

I'll try the manual pressure gauge check first If that confirms the sensor issue, I'll take it to a workshop They quoted around 280€ to replace the faulty sensor Thanks again for your help with my TPMS issue
