Mercedes E Klasse engine stalling problem

My 2001 Mercedes E Klasse with a gasoline engine is having issues. It has 54176 km on it. The check engine light is on, and the engine is running rough, sometimes stalling at idle. I've also noticed some jerking when accelerating. Could this be related to the fuel system? I've read about a defective fuel pressure sensor, or maybe even the fuel pump. Any ideas what might be causing this engine stalling?

I had similar issues with my E Klasse: rough idle and engine stalling. The pressure sensor could be the culprit. Check the cable and plug connection first.

Thanks for the quick reply. Where exactly is the fuel pressure sensor located? And what should I be looking for when checking the cable and plug connection?

It's somewhere near the fuel rail. Look for any obvious damage, loose connections, or corrosion. If that looks fine, a workshop is probably the best bet to properly diagnose it.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the connection, didn't find anything obvious, and took it to a workshop. Turns out it was indeed the fuel pressure sensor and a faulty cable connection. Total repair cost was 95€. Runs smooth again now.
