Mercedes E Klasse Hybrid Brake Light Error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mercedes E Klasse hybrid displayed a brake system error, with the tail light not functioning. Initially suspected to be a bad brake light switch, a common issue in cars, it was suggested to check the switch near the brake pedal. However, the problem was resolved by correcting a setting that had accidentally turned off the tail lights, eliminating the error without any repair costs.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you tell me more about checking the brake light switch?

I'm not an expert, but the switch is usually near the brake pedal. Unless you know what you're doing, messing with the brakes isn't a great idea. Brakes are important. I'd take it to a workshop. They can figure it out and replace the switch if needed. The automotive switch itself is not expensive.

I appreciate the advice. I found out I caused the problem. I accidentally turned off the tail lights in a setting. The error message is gone, and the brake system works now. The repair cost was 0€ Thanks again for your help.

I drive a Mercedes, though not the same year or engine, and I had a similar brake light issue. My car showed an error, and the brake lights were acting up. It was a bad brake light switch. It's common in cars. Pressing the brake pedal too hard or too often can damage it. I'd check there first.
