Mercedes E Klasse Key Battery Issue

I'm getting a weird error on my 2018 Mercedes E Klasse diesel. It keeps saying "key battery low". Keyless entry doesn't work anymore, and sometimes I have trouble even unlocking the car. I checked the error memory and there's something stored about the key. I'm guessing it's just the key battery, but wanted to see if anyone else had this happen?

Yep, had the exact same thing happen with my E Klasse. Key battery warning, then keyless stopped working. So annoying! Changed the battery and all good again. Have you tried swapping out the fob battery yet?

Yes, I'm talking about the battery inside the auto key. Honestly, I tried to do it myself but was worried about breaking the fob. I ended up just taking it to a workshop. They swapped the fob battery in like five minutes.

Thanks! I appreciate the info. I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but I understand your concern about breaking the key fob. I went ahead and had them do it. Cost me 37€, and now the dead key is working again. No more error messages!
