Mercedes E Klasse radar sensor malfunction

My 2018 Mercedes E Klasse hybrid is having issues. At 237726 km, I've got a sensor malfunction, the radar sensor seems dead. There's an error message on the speedometer, an error code stored, and the driving assistance systems aren't working. A warning light is on too. Could it just be a dirty sensor messing with the radar calibration?

I had something similar with my E Klasse. The driving assistance systems went crazy and the error messages were pretty scary. Have you checked the sensor for anything blocking it? Road grime can cause problems. It might be an easy fix before you dig into deeper issues.

Thanks. When you had this, did the error messages say it was the radar sensor, or were they just general warnings about the driving assistance systems? Did you try fixing it yourself before going to a professional?

The error messages were about the 'Distronic' system failing. I tried cleaning the sensor, but I was worried I'd break it. I'd suggest a workshop with diagnostic tools. They can find the radar calibration and sensor issue fast. It might save you time and trouble. It's better to be safe with these systems.

Thanks for the advice. I had the radar sensor checked, and it was just a dirty sensor. Cleaning and recalibrating the radar fixed it. The total cost was 45€.
