Mercedes E Klasse Rain Light Sensor Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes E Klasse hybrid is experiencing a rain-light sensor fault, affecting automatic wiping, headlight control, speedometer dimming, and causing random light activation. A possible cause identified is bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor is located. The recommended solution is a workshop visit to replace the sensor unit, which resolved the issue.

Interesting Bubbles huh I'll definitely take a look The windshield is original as far as I know but I bought the car used so no guarantees If it is the bubbles what's the fix Is it a DIY job or am I looking at a workshop visit

If it's bubbles under the gel pad the sensor is malfunctioning I recommend a workshop visit It's an electrical fault and messing with the sensor yourself could cause more issues They'll likely need to replace the sensor unit

Sounds familiar I've had similar issues with my E Klasse Check for bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor sits That's often the culprit Is the windshield original or has it been replaced
