When you encountered this issue with your Opel Insignia, did the diagnostic trouble code specifically identify the failing coil, or did you rely primarily on the process of elimination with the coil swapping procedure? I'm curious about the precision of the diagnostic information.

The diagnostic code did point to a misfire on a specific cylinder, which strongly suggested a coil issue. However, to be absolutely certain, I did perform the coil swap test as a secondary confirmation. Given your symptoms and the check engine light, a diagnostic scan is definitely the first step. If it indicates a misfire, it is likely a coil pack. Considering the potential for further complications, I would advise seeking professional assistance from a qualified workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis and repair.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. I had the vehicle inspected. A defective ignition coil was identified. The cable connection was compromised. The repair, including parts and labor, amounted to 95€.

I had a similar experience with my previous 2016 Opel Insignia. The symptoms you describe strongly suggest a coil pack issue. In my case, it was a faulty ignition coil. Have you checked the connections to each coil? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause similar problems. Try swapping the coils around to see if the fault code moves to a different cylinder. This can help confirm if the coil itself is the problem.
