Thanks for the quick response When you say wiring harness are you referring to the one directly connected to the wiper motor or another one near the steering column I'll check the connections and plugs but just want to make sure I'm looking at the right spot If the turn signal and cruise control stalk feels normal does that rule out the steering column

Yeah I'm talking about the one near the steering column It's a common point of failure for the car wipers If the turn signal and cruise control are working properly it might indicate the steering column itself is okay but honestly these things can be tricky The wiper stalk has its own separate wiring within the column Unless you're comfortable digging deeper I'd say take it to a workshop 95€ isn't bad if they can sort it quickly

Appreciate the insight Ended up taking it to the workshop as suggested Turns out it was indeed a loose connection in the steering column wiring just like you suspected The mechanic re-seated the connector cleared the error code and now the car wipers are working perfectly Thanks again for your help

Sounds familiar I drive an E Klasse too I had a similar thing happen with my car wipers a while back Check the wiring harness where it enters the steering column Give the plug connectors a wiggle and see if anything changes Does the turn signal and cruise control stalk feel normal They're all connected to the same unit
