Mercedes EQC Fog Sensor Issue

EQC gurus I have a head-scratcher My Mercedes EQC built in Electric is throwing an error related to the fog sensor The air conditioning refuses to engage the windshield washer nozzles are frozen and the side mirror heating is MIA I suspect it's all tied together and points towards a dodgy cable or connector for the automotive sensor Has anyone else seen this kind of weirdness Is it possible that the humidity sensor is involved

Summary of the thread

A Mercedes EQC owner experienced issues with the air conditioning, windshield washer nozzles, and side mirror heating, suspecting a faulty cable or connector related to the fog sensor. Another owner with similar problems suggested the windshield fogging detection system might be the cause. The issue was resolved by cleaning and re-seating a faulty connector on the humidity sensor harness at a service center, restoring normal function without needing part replacements.

I encountered a strikingly similar predicament with my EQC The symptoms you describe suggest a shared underlying malfunction The inoperative air conditioning and mirror heating coupled with the frozen spray nozzles indicate a failure within the windshield fogging detection system I would suggest you look at the sensor itself

When you say 'the sensor itself' are you referring to the main fog sensor module or a specific sub-component Did you manage to isolate the precise point of failure or did you end up replacing the whole thing I'm trying to avoid unnecessarily replacing parts Also I am curious if you had an electrical issue with it

Given the complexity of the integrated systems within the EQC and the potential for cascading failures stemming from a faulty automotive sensor I would advise against attempting a self-diagnosis or repair beyond a preliminary inspection of accessible connections In my instance the resolution necessitated a visit to an authorized Mercedes-Benz service center for a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and subsequent component replacement I recommend you do the same and go to the workshop

Thanks for the insight I appreciate you confirming my suspicions about the fog sensor being the root cause I'll schedule an appointment with the service center Turns out you were spot on It was indeed a faulty connector on the humidity sensor harness They cleaned the contacts re-seated the connector and cleared the codes Everything's back to normal The 95€ was the diagnostic fee thankfully no parts needed
