Mercedes EQV Electric Climate Control Problem

My 2022 Mercedes EQV Electric climate control is malfunctioning No air conditioning weak heating and an error code I suspect a defective cable or plug connection Has anyone experienced similar HVAC electronic faults

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Mercedes EQV Electric is experiencing climate control issues, with no air conditioning, weak heating, and an error code. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Suggestions included checking fuses, disconnecting the battery to reset the system, and verifying the temperature sensor's accuracy. Ultimately, a workshop confirmed a faulty connector in the wiring harness, which was cleaned and secured, resolving the issue.

That sounds frustrating I had a similar issue with my old BMW although it was a petrol model The entire HVAC system went haywire Have you checked the fuses related to the climate control A blown fuse can cause a cascade of electronic faults Also have you tried disconnecting the battery for a bit to reset the system Sometimes that can clear out spurious error codes Is the temperature sensor showing plausible readings or is it completely off

Interesting the fuse idea is a good one I will check it tomorrow Disconnecting the battery is also a good idea How long do you reckon I should disconnect it for And how would I know if the temperature sensor is showing plausible readings Is there a way to test it with a multimeter or would I need some fancy diagnostic equipment

When I disconnected the battery on my BMW I left it off for about 30 minutes just to be sure As for the temperature sensor you'd typically need diagnostic equipment to read its output Without that it's difficult to say if the readings are accurate Honestly given the symptoms and the error code and considering you suspect a wiring harness issue it might be best to get it to a workshop They can properly diagnose the electronic faults and test the individual components of the HVAC system Best to avoid causing more damage by poking around without the right tools

Thanks for the advice I checked the fuses they were fine Disconnecting the battery didn't help either I took it to a local workshop and they confirmed it was indeed a faulty connector in the wiring harness as suspected They cleaned the contacts and secured the connection Air conditioning is working again It cost me 95€ as estimated Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
