Mercedes G Klasse Diesel Preheating Lamp Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Mercedes G Klasse diesel had an issue with the preheating lamp not turning off, accompanied by an engine light and hard cold starts, suggesting a glow plug failure. A diagnostic check confirmed that glow plug number 3 was defective. Replacing the faulty glow plug resolved the issue, normalizing the preheating lamp and engine performance.

Yes, the engine light's been on since the preheating lamp went crazy Fuel consumption seems normal, though I haven't checked exactly Did you end up with glow plug issues as well Was it a single plug or a full set

If the engine light is on and the preheating lamp remains illuminated, it is highly probable that you are experiencing a defective glow plug Given the symptoms, a diagnostic check at a qualified workshop is advisable to confirm the fault and determine the extent of the required repairs

Thanks for the confirmation I took it to the shop, and you were spot on Glow plug number 3 was the problem I replaced it, and the engine light is gone, the preheating lamp is normal, and cold starts are back to normal It cost 440€, but at least it's running well again
