Hey, thanks for your information! Seems to be a general problem with this class of vehicle. Do you remember the cost of repairing the electric changeover valve? And did you have any further problems after the repair or did it solve all the symptoms? Thank you and best regards!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! In my case, it was around €140 to repair the electric changeover valve. Once that was done, everything ran perfectly again. My mechanic also got to grips with the control of the secondary air valve, and since then there's no more annoying check engine light or anything like that. Since then, everything has been quiet, including the exhaust. So it's definitely doable, don't let it stress you out. If you have any more questions, just ask! Ciao and keep your chin up!

Hey, great, that sounds much more positive than I had originally feared! Thank you really enormously for this helpful information, it takes away a lot of my uncertainty. A cost of around €140 would definitely be feasible for me. I'll make an appointment with my garage straight away and point out directly that it could be the electric changeover valve. If all goes well, my baby will soon be fit again! Thanks again and take care! Best regards

Hey, I can well understand your concerns. I had similar problems with my 2013 Mercedes A-Class. In my case, the electric changeover valve was defective. The symptoms were almost identical to yours. The garage replaced it and the car ran smoothly again. It was a more serious problem, but nothing that couldn't be repaired. Be sure to have it checked, preferably at a garage you trust. Good luck and drive carefully!
