Hey, thanks for your insight and your tips. That sounds like a pretty big hassle with the engine control unit. Can you remember how much you paid to get it fixed? And have you had any other problems since then, maybe something else came up? Thank you!

Hey, sure, no problem. Well, I had to dig deep into my pockets to repair the engine control unit. It cost me €1000. But believe me, it was worth every penny. Since the visit to the mechanic, the cold start injection valve has also been fixed. And I can honestly say that I haven't had any further problems with the car since then. So don't drive yourself crazy, you can fix it too. Good luck to you, my friend!

Hey, thanks for the sympathy and the detailed reply. Wow, that's a lot of money, but it looks like it was worth it for you. I'll definitely look into it now and take my GLA to the garage as soon as possible. Thanks for your tips and the encouraging words. I'll let you know how it turns out. Have a nice day!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Mercedes CLA Class, where the engine control unit was defective. Your symptoms sound very similar. Black smoke, engine light, increased fuel consumption - I know it all too well. I went to the garage at the time and they told me that it was a serious problem because the engine control unit is the electronic control unit of the vehicle. It controls fuel injection, ignition timing, turbocharging, exhaust aftertreatment and many other important functions. Defects can lead to serious engine and transmission damage if it is not repaired in time. So I would recommend that you take it to the garage as soon as possible and have it checked.
