Mercedes GLA Diesel Engine Error Messages
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes GLA diesel owner experienced engine error messages on both the speedometer and infotainment screen, with a diagnostic scanner showing a fault code. The issue was identified as incorrect vehicle coding, causing communication problems within the system. The solution involved taking the car to a workshop for recoding the control module, which resolved the errors.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'reset', do you mean just clear the error memory with the diagnostic scanner? I did that, but the errors came back almost immediately.

Ah, right. If the codes came back straight away, then just resetting won't fix it. In my case, the coding of the vehicle was incorrect, so the system wasn't communicating properly. It was an annoying issue. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop that knows Mercedes. They'll probably need to recode something.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. The coding was messed up. They recoded the control module, and the errors are gone. Cost me 360€, but at least it's sorted. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my GLA, though I can't remember the exact year. The engine light came on, and the car threw a fit with error messages all over the place. Did you check the control module? Sometimes a simple reset does the trick. It might be worth investigating before you panic!
