Thanks for the quick reply! How exactly do I check for a parasitic drain? Is that something I can do with a multimeter? And where would I connect it to get an accurate reading?

Checking for parasitic drain can be tricky. Honestly, if you're not comfortable with electrical testing, it's best to take it to a workshop. Considering the symptoms and the potential for an alternator issue, a professional diagnosis might save you time and prevent further damage.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – the battery was heavily discharged and defective. The repair, including a new battery, cost about 290€. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my Mercedes GLA. You should check the charging system voltage while the engine is running. It should be around 14V. If it's lower, it might be an alternator issue. Did you check for any parasitic drain on the battery?
