Mercedes GLA hybrid engine running rough
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Mercedes GLA hybrid is experiencing rough engine performance, particularly at idle, with occasional stalling and jerking during acceleration. The check engine light is on, suggesting a potential ignition system issue, possibly a coil failure or bad connection to a coil pack. The problem was diagnosed as a defective ignition coil with a bad connection, which was replaced, resolving the issue.

No I have not had it diagnosed yet Just trying to get some ideas before I take it in When you say defective ignition coil do you mean the entire coil pack or just one of the coils And how did you figure out which one it was

In my case it was just one of the coils The diagnostic tool at the workshop pointed to a specific cylinder misfiring which narrowed it down So the coil pack itself was fine just one ignition coil had failed Get the error codes read that's the best way forward But with those symptoms and the check engine light I would suggest getting it to the workshop Driving with a misfire can cause more problems

Thanks for the advice I took it to the shop and you were spot on It was a defective ignition coil just like you said with a bad connection They replaced it for 95€ and now it runs like new

Sounds familiar I had similar symptoms on my old BMW different engine obviously and it turned out to be a defective ignition coil The check engine light is a big clue A faulty cable or plug connection to the coil could definitely be the culprit Has it been diagnosed
