Mercedes GLA Power Window Failure

My 2020 Mercedes GLA diesel has dead power windows I have almost 206000 km on the clock There's an error stored in the car's computer Could it be the window mechanism or control unit

I understand you are experiencing issues with your Mercedes GLA's power windows Your description and the stored error code suggest a problem within the window regulator system Have you checked the power window switch itself for any signs of damage or malfunction A defective switch can often prevent the window motor from receiving power, even if the window regulator and window track are otherwise in good condition Do you know which error code is stored in the memory Can you hear the window motor when you press the switch

Thanks for the quick reply I haven't checked the switch itself How would I do that I'm not really a car person, so I don't want to mess anything up I can't hear anything when I press the switch, no window motor sound at all I'm not sure about the exact error code now, but is it difficult to access the window regulator or window track myself

Given your lack of technical expertise and the absence of any motor sound, I would advise against attempting to disassemble the door panel and access the window mechanism yourself You risk damaging the interior trim or further complicating the issue Since you mentioned an error code is stored, it is best to take it to a qualified mechanic The error code should give them a good idea where to start looking Based on your description, a faulty power window switch seems probable but the exact cause, whether it be the switch, the window motor, or the window regulator, needs proper diagnosis

Thanks so much for your help I took it to a workshop, and they said it was a defective power window switch They replaced it for 200€, and now the windows are working perfectly again I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction At least it wasn't the window motor or the window track I am so happy
