(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Mercedes GLC is experiencing uneven engine performance, high fuel consumption, and unusual noises, with a suspected camshaft phasing fault. The check engine light is on, and the user suspects a defect in the camshaft adjustment. A similar issue was resolved by replacing defective seals and camshaft timing parts, which improved the car's performance. Moin moin and thanks for your tip! I like your idea! My GLC has a mileage of 123423 km and I last changed the oil not too long ago. I think I'll have to bite the bullet and take it to the garage. Your 1620 euro shocking sum almost took my breath away, but if it helps, it has to be done! I hope the garage can get my beloved Mercedes back on the road. Thanks again for your time and help!

Yes, hello there, you're welcome. Of course, it's not child's play to put so much money on the table, but believe me, it's worth it. In my case it was a hefty sum, but that's the way it is when you have to fix such a complex problem. Your high mileage could also be the reason why this problem occurred. It's good that you changed the oil, but unfortunately that doesn't always help. If you're stuck with so many problems, the garage is usually the only and best solution. Sure, it will cost you, but the well-being of your car should be worth it, right? And hey, you have to remember, the cost could vary depending on where you go. My tip would be to visit several garages and compare price quotes before you make a decision. You know what they say: "Better safe than sorry". Take good care of yourself and your Mercedes, and give us an update here on the forum as soon as you have a solution. Good luck with that

Hi, I had a similar situation with my 2020 Mercedes GLC 200. I'm not a car expert, but I do have some experience. The problem was a defective camshaft timing due to worn rubber seals. Cost me a whopping 1620 euros. What a day that was! The workshop replaced the defective seals and the camshaft timing parts. After that, the car ran like clockwork again. Take care of it as soon as possible to avoid further damage! It might be helpful if you give us more details about your car - engine size, miles driven, last oil change etc.. Then we might be able to give you more tips. Hope this helps a little! Good luck!
