Mercedes GLC Hybrid Gearbox Problems

Has anyone else experienced gearbox issues with their 2023 Mercedes GLC hybrid? At 100079 km, the transmission control unit seems defective. I can't shift gears with the paddles, the gearbox slips and shifts uncleanly, plus there are grinding noises during gear changes. The paddles are sluggish, and the gearbox sometimes enters emergency mode. Diagnostic scans show an error pointing to a faulty control module. I'm expecting a transmission repair around 1000€ because of electronic issues with the ECU.

I had similar gearbox issues with my 2018 Volvo XC60. The symptoms match yours exactly, even the emergency mode. To be clear, when you say 'control module', are you referring to the Transmission Control Module (TCM)? It's the computer that manages the gearbox. Also, were there any specific error codes logged?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, by control module I mean the Transmission Control Module, or TCM. Sorry for not saying that at first. I need to check the diagnostic report again for the specific error codes. I'll post that info ASAP. What fixed the issue with your Volvo?

The Volvo needed a TCM replacement. These electronic issues seem to happen. Since you have similar symptoms, and a stored error, I'd suggest a workshop visit. They'll probably suggest a diagnostic and maybe replacing the control module. Best of luck with the transmission repair.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. The workshop confirmed the TCM was defective and needs replacing. Your comments about the electronic issues affecting the automotive ECU really helped me understand the problem. Thanks for the support.
