Could you elaborate on the specifics of the issue you encountered with your Vauxhall Astra? Specifically, were the symptoms identical, and did the fault trace to a servomotor malfunction, or did it manifest from a different component?

Honestly, it was a while ago, and I don't remember all the details. I remember the lights pointing way too low, and the garage mentioning something about the adaptive system being confused. I do not think it was the servomotor itself in my case. The repair was much cheaper than your estimate! If I were you, I would take it to a workshop.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Following your recommendation, I consulted with a certified Mercedes-Benz technician. The diagnosis confirmed my initial assessment: a defective servomotor within the headlight assembly was indeed the source. The component has been replaced, and the headlight range control is now functioning as intended.

That sounds like a headache! I had a similar problem with my old Vauxhall Astra, though thankfully it wasn't nearly as expensive to fix. The adaptive headlights are probably the source. Did you check the headlight switch? I am not an expert, but I seem to remember something about the range control being linked to that. I hope someone has a better idea than me.
