Mercedes GLC steering issue
Summary of the thread
A Mercedes GLC hybrid is experiencing increased steering effort and vibration, with diagnostics indicating a defective steering angle sensor and possibly faulty sensor coding. The problem may be linked to electronic stability program issues, and the power steering is intermittent. A suggested solution is to have the sensor coding checked and recalibrated at a workshop, which resolved the issue without needing sensor replacement.

The symptoms appeared gradually. No recent tire changes or wheel work. Can you tell me more about how your issue was resolved? Was sensor replacement necessary?

The dealer confirmed it was the steering angle sensor. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. They can fix the coding or replace the sensor if needed.

Confirmed faulty steering angle sensor coding. Sensor replacement wasn't needed; recalibration fixed it. Total cost: 195€ Thank you for the input.

I have a GLC and had similar symptoms. The power steering felt off, and the steering wheel vibrated sometimes. Did the issue start after any specific event?
