Mercedes GLE engine power loss after tuning

I'm writing about an issue with my 2017 Mercedes GLE with a gasoline engine. It has about 166182 km. I've noticed a big drop in engine power. I scanned it and a fault code was stored. Could chip tuning be the cause?

Reduced engine power and a fault code? Sounds familiar. I drive a GLE too. Has it been tuned? What code did the scanner report? If it's chip tuning, it can cause engine issues. Was it a good company?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, it was tuned a while ago. I don't remember the code right now, but can tuning cause long-term problems, even if it was done a while ago? Anything else I can check?

Lasting problems? Definitely. Bad tuning can stress parts too much over time. I'd suggest a workshop that knows Mercedes diagnostics. They can find the problem and suggest what to do.

I took it to a specialist, like you said. The code showed the chip tuning was the problem. Luckily, the repair was only 180€. Thanks again for the help.
