Mercedes GLE Hybrid Automatic Transmission Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Mercedes GLE Hybrid owner reported issues with the automatic transmission, including a check engine light, slipping gears, rough shifting, and grinding noises. The scan indicated an error related to the automatic transmission converter, specifically the lock-up clutch. Another owner with a similar experience confirmed that these symptoms likely point to a defective torque converter. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a reputable workshop.

Yes, the error code mentions the lock-up clutch in the automatic transmission. It points towards the torque converter. Was that the issue in your case as well Was the auto transmission converter defective for you too

Yes, that was indeed the problem. It definitely sounds like a converter fault. Given the symptoms and the error code, I'd suggest taking it to a reputable workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair. They will be able to confirm the issue and provide a more accurate quote.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's helpful to know someone else had a similar issue. I've booked it in for a diagnosis. It turned out to be a defective automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch. The grinding noises when shifting gears were a telltale sign. I'm going ahead with the repair.

That sounds concerning. I also own a GLE, though an older model. I had similar symptoms a while back: the check engine light, slipping gears, and a strange surging sensation. I wonder, did the error code specifically mention the lock-up clutch
