Mercedes GLE Hybrid Engine Trouble Resolved
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Mercedes GLE hybrid was experiencing engine trouble, including a check engine light, rough running, stalling at idle, and jerking during acceleration. The suspected cause was a defective fuel pressure sensor, which could affect fuel economy and delivery. After advice to check the sensor's cable and plug connection, it was found that a defective cable was the issue. Replacing the cable resolved the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is that sensor located, and how would I go about checking the cable and plug? Is it something I can reasonably do myself, or am I better off taking it to a professional?

The fuel pressure sensor is typically located on the fuel rail. Inspect the cable for any visible damage and ensure the plug is securely connected. While a visual inspection is straightforward, diagnosis may require specialized tools. Given the symptoms, I suggest consulting a workshop to properly diagnose the issue.

Thank you for your help and advice! It turned out to be a defective cable to the fuel pressure sensor, just as you suspected. The workshop replaced the cable, and the problem is now resolved. The total repair cost was 95€.

A defective fuel pressure sensor can indeed cause such symptoms. I encountered a similar problem with my Audi some time ago. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the sensor? A loose or corroded connection is a frequent cause.
