Mercedes GLE Transport Mode Issue

My 2016 Mercedes GLE hybrid is showing a 'Transport mode active' error, causing electrical issues. The navigation isn't working, and other systems seem affected. The dealer says the car isn't new. Any ideas before I spend a lot of money?

I had a similar issue with my Mercedes GLE. The 'Transport mode active' message means the car's electrical functions are limited for shipping. First, check the vehicle settings menu to turn off transport mode. See the owner's manual for details. If that doesn't work, get a diagnostic check to see if the key fob is synced with the car. Have you checked the key fob?

Thanks, that's helpful. Where should I look for the transport mode setting? I've checked the menus, but I don't see it. Also, what about the key fob? What should I look for, and how can I test its communication with the car?

The transport mode setting should be in the 'Vehicle' or 'Settings' menu on the main display. The exact location depends on the software. For the key fob, make sure the battery is charged and that it's synced with the car. If it still doesn't work, get a diagnostic check at a Mercedes-Benz service center. A software installation might fix it.

Thanks for the advice! I found the transport mode setting deep in the menus. I turned it off, and everything is working now. The navigation is back, and the electrical issues are gone. I avoided a trip to the dealer and diagnostic costs! It cost me 0€.
