Mercedes GLK Diesel Fault Code and Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Mercedes GLK diesel experienced a persistent fault code and significant engine power loss, suspected to be caused by a prior third-party chip tuning attempt. The issue was resolved by reflashing the ECU to its original factory settings, which corrected the corrupted software. After this intervention, the fault code disappeared, and the engine power returned to normal.

Frequently? Yes, this engine issue is now constant. The dashboard light is always on and the reduced power never goes away. Which scan tool did you use? Was your problem also related to tuning?

Okay, constant problem is worse than what I had. Mine came and went for a while. I used some no-name thing from online, so I didn't expect too much. It wasn't the tuning for me, but a faulty sensor. Honestly, with it being constant, I would just take it to a workshop. They have better vehicle diagnostics equipment.

Understood. Thank you for the input. I had the ECU reflashed to the original factory settings. The garage confirmed the chip tuning corrupted the ECU software. Repair cost was 180€. The fault code is now gone, and the engine power is back to normal.

Reduced power and a stored error? Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen on my old Ford Focus. Not a Mercedes, I know, but could be related. Do you get the engine issue frequently? I bought a cheap scan tool but it didn't help much.
