Mercedes GLS Audio System Failure

My 2016 Mercedes GLS with a gasoline engine is having audio issues. The system is completely dead. Error memory shows a fault, and my local shop suspects a defective display. Quoted 725€. Mileage is 79204 km. Could faulty wiring or dashboard controls be the culprit? Bluetooth problem maybe?

Ugh, sounds familiar! I have a GLS too and had similar problems with the audio. No sound at all, even the volume control was useless. Drove me nuts! Was there any speaker crackle before it died completely?

No speaker crackle that I noticed. Just went silent. Did yours require a new display unit, or was it something else causing the Bluetooth problem?

Yeah, they replaced the whole display unit. Apparently, it's a common issue. If they already checked the wiring, I'd trust their diagnosis. Probably best to bite the bullet and get it fixed.

Thanks for the info. Seems like display replacement is the likely fix. I'll proceed with the repair.
