Mercedes GLS Diesel Alarm System Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes GLS diesel is experiencing a malfunction with the alarm system, indicated by an error memory showing a fault in the additional battery alarm system. A possible cause could be a discharged auxiliary battery, as similar issues in other Mercedes models have been linked to battery problems. It is suggested to perform a battery check and consult with a workshop to address the issue.

When you experienced this, were the symptoms identical, specifically related to the alarm system?

Not exactly the alarm. My car was throwing random errors and the start/stop wasn't working. But the workshop said it was all linked to the car battery not holding charge properly. I'd still get it checked out by someone who knows Mercedes!

Thank you for sharing. I appreciate the advice. I will proceed with a battery check and consult with a workshop. The estimated repair cost I received was 330€, which seems to address the auxiliary battery issue.

That sounds familiar. I have a Mercedes C-Class and I had a similar thing happen. A battery problem caused all kinds of weird electrical issues. It could totally be the auxiliary battery, maybe get a battery check?
