Mercedes GLS GPS Antenna Problem

My Mercedes GLS built in 2021 with a hybrid engine has a GPS antenna issue, resulting in no GPS reception for the car navigation system and an error code. What could be the cause?

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar experience with my GLS. The car navigation system wouldn't acquire a signal and threw error messages related to the GPS module. Check the connections to the antenna itself. Sometimes they can become loose or corroded, impacting the satellite connection. It is worth checking before you spend a lot of money.

When you encountered the issue, did the error messages specifically indicate a problem with the GPS antenna, or were they more general? Also, can you elaborate on the process of checking the antenna connections? I want to make sure I don't damage any car electronics.

Yes, the error message pointed directly to the GPS antenna. I did not check the antenna myself. I took it directly to the workshop. They diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced the GPS antenna. It's best to have it checked by professionals rather than risking damage to the car electronics. It might save you some headaches.

I appreciate your confirmation and advice. I will schedule an appointment with the workshop to have the GPS antenna inspected and replaced if needed. Your experience and knowledge have been most helpful. I will share the outcome, it may help other owners with car navigation problems.
