Mercedes GLS keyless entry problem
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Mercedes GLS owner experienced a complete failure of the keyless entry system, with a diagnostic scan indicating an error related to the door electronics. The issue was suspected to be a wiring fault or a loose plug within the car door. A suggestion was made to check the door actuator, as it is a common cause of such problems. Upon further inspection by a professional, the problem was identified as a corroded connector on the door electronics, which was cleaned to restore functionality.

Good call! Where exactly is that door actuator located? Is it a pain to get to? I'm hoping it's not buried deep inside the door. I'm decent with tools but I'm no pro.

It’s inside the door, you'll have to remove the door panel. If you aren't comfortable doing that, you might consider a workshop. My local shop charged about 95€ to diagnose and repair the wiring fault.

Thanks! I took it to the shop. Turns out it was a corroded connector on the door electronics, just like you said! They cleaned it up, and everything is working again. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar sensor issue with my GLS. Have you checked the door actuator? It's often the culprit when the keyless go stops working. Could be a wiring fault as you suspect, but sometimes it's just the actuator itself freaking out.
