Mercedes GLS SRS Light Issue

My 2015 Mercedes GLS with a gasoline engine has the SRS light on. I've checked the fuses, but I'm not experienced with airbag repair. Could this be a simple plug issue? I’m concerned about vehicle safety. Any ideas before I'm forced to take it to a workshop?

That SRS light is never good. I had something similar happen in my GLS. Check the connections under the seats, especially the yellow plugs. They can get loose or corroded. Might be a long shot, but worth a look before you shell out cash.

Thanks for the tip! When you say 'similar,' do you mean the SRS light was on constantly, or was it intermittent? Did you have any other symptoms, like weird electrical issues? Also, where exactly are the crash sensors located in your vehicle?

Yeah, the SRS light was on solid. No other weirdness, just the light. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with the crash sensor locations yourself. Could cause more problems than it solves. Best bet is probably getting it scanned to pinpoint the fault then going to a pro. Likely it's a cable or plug like you mentioned. I did the same in the end.

Okay, I appreciate the advice! I took it to the mechanic, and you were right, it turned out to be a faulty connector related to the airbag system. They fixed the cable connection and the SRS light is finally gone. The airbag repair cost me 95€ which is a relief. Thanks for the help!
