Mercedes GLS transport mode issue

I'm losing it My 2017 Mercedes GLS with a gasoline engine is acting possessed The dash is screaming 'Transport mode active' Car electronics are haywire, the navigation system is completely dead, and it only has 149028 km on the clock I'm guessing the dealer forgot to disable something since it's new to me, but what's the deal Could this be an immobilizer thing Has anyone seen this before

Transport mode, huh That's usually for when they ship the car, keeps the battery from draining Sounds like they definitely missed a step in prepping it for sale First things first, have you tried both key fobs Sometimes a simple resync can kick it out Also, did they do a proper diagnostic check before you drove off the lot If they didn't clear all the codes, that could be part of the problem A software revision might be necessary too Is anything else not working

Yeah, I tried both key fobs, no luck A diagnostic check Honestly, I'm not sure if they even looked at it properly I'm starting to think they just handed me the keys and said 'good luck' A software revision, you say Is that something I can even do myself, or am I looking at a trip back to the dealer How would that even affect it Could it be that simple

A software revision for something like this isn't usually a DIY job, especially with Mercedes car electronics It's likely a dealer visit is in order They'll need to hook it up to their system and see what's going on Sounds like the transport mode wasn't deactivated correctly, which can cause all sorts of weirdness with the immobilizer and other systems Best bet is to have them sort it It might be frustrating, but it’s the safest way to ensure everything is working as it should

Thanks, figured as much Took it back, they hooked it up, and yep, a quick software revision fixed it Seems like the car was still thinking it was on its way across the ocean At least it was a 0€ repair and now the car electronics work as expected Appreciate the advice
